who we are
“IT COMES DOWN TO ACHIEVING INCLUSIVE IMPACT AND REAL CHANGE IN PEOPLE’S LIVES. THE TOWNSHIPS AND INNER CITIES ARE NOT EASY MARKETS. BUT IT IS IN THESE CHALLENGING ENVIRONMENTS WHERE TUHF21 WANTS TO MAKE MEANINGFUL AND SUSTAINABLE IMPACT,”
Lusanda has over 20 years’ experience in the property and affordable housing sector. She joined TUHF in 2007 as Portfolio Manager and opened TUHF’s KwaZulu Natal operations in 2009. She served as Development Impact Executive at TUHF before becoming CEO of TUHF21 in April 2021.
She holds an MBL (UNISA) and an MSc in Development Planning (Wits). She completed the Executive Programme in Advanced Property Development (Graduate School of Business, UCT) and Wharton International Housing Finance Course (University of Pennsylvania, USA).
Lusanda works to ensure that TUHF21’s subsidiary businesses – uMaStandi and Intuthuko – become viable Social Enterprises and contribute to real development impact in townships and inner-city areas around South Africa.

To create Real Development Impact, TUHF21 builds on the proud 18-year track record of the TUHF Group.
Since the 1st of April 2021, TUHF21 was launched as a “separate but connected” operation from the TUHF Group. The objective was to enable TUHF21 to more rapidly explore other markets, particularly in townships, while growing its existing product portfolio and developing innovative new ones.
It will remain connected to the overarching TUHF ethos of ensuring that access to finance for property entrepreneurs is optimised, urban regeneration, densification and management is scaled, and that training and mentorship of clients continues. TUHF21 will also manage all the Corporate Social Investments (CSI) activities which are an important focus of the Group.
